I lived in Lytton, IA, the first five years of my life, but I was born and raised in Carroll where I attended the Carroll Community Schools and graduated from CHS (Go Tigers!) I attended Iowa State University for two years and Buena Vista University for two years, graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education with Reading, Early Childhood, and Special Education Endorsements.
I've been teaching for over 20 years: six years at Glidden-Ralston as a third grade teacher, ten years as a preschool aide and preschool teacher, two years as a substitute teacher, and this is my fifth year teaching seventh grade Lit. at CMS. I've loved each of the grade levels I've taught and continue to enjoy meeting new people and new challenges at each level.
My husband and I have been married for 25 years and we have two daughters: Aly graduated from CHS in 2010 and ISU in 2014 (Go, State!), majoring in Performing Arts. She now lives in Des Moines and is currently working in the SE Polk School District. Our youngest daughter, Hayley, graduated from CHS in May and is now a freshman at Iowa State. We love attending Carroll High events and Iowa State games to cheer on the Cyclones!
When I'm not attending school or college events, I enjoy reading, socializing on my computer, and hanging out with my friends and family.
